Making A Glass Door Insert In PSP
___________________________________________________
This tutorial was done in PSP 7.02
You will need PSP of course for this tutorial
if you don't have it you can get a free trial
of the latest version of PSP to play with for
30 days download it by clicking on the logo,
but the tools are not all in the same places
as in PSP 7.02
You will need my Selection to start out with
main_shape-ec.sel in the zip file
here.
save the zip file then open it and save the
selection to your Selections folder in PSP.
You will need the Cameo for this also
here.
save the zip file then open it and save the
Cameo to your Tutorial folder.
You will also need Super Blade Pro or Blade
Pro by Flaming Pear for this tutorial to get a
free trial to play with for 15 days
check it out here.
You will need my Blade Pro or Super Blade Pro
presets clear glass-ec.q5q or clear glass-ec.q9q
get it and cut crystal glass-ec.q5q or cut crystal
glass-ec.q9q both are included in the zip file
here.
save the zip file then open and save it to your
working plug-ins folder clear glass-ec.q9q Blade
Pro/environments and textures or clear glass-ec.q5q
Super Blade Pro/environments and textures then open
it in PSP.
You will need my glass patterns zip file if you don't
have the plug-in Blade Pro or Super Blade Pro get them
here.
save the zip file then open and save the glass patterns
to your Patterns folder in PSP.

Making The Glass Insert
___________________________________________________
1.) Open new image size 400w x 800h transparent 16 mil.
colors.
2.) Add new raster layer and go to Selections/Load From
Disk/main_shape-ec.sel.
3.) Flood fill with a gold pattern or white and use a gold
Super Blade Pro preset.
(If you use the gold pattern you will need to use an
inner bevel.)
Go to Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel set at:
Preset Name = Special Memories Box
Bevel Shape = Round Row #1 Column #2 Shape #2
Width = 31
Smoothness = 0
Depth = 100
Ambience = -29
Shininess = 0
Color = White
Angle = 315
Intensity = 100
Elevation = 90
You should have something like this:
4.) Go to Selections/Modify contract by 5 or
10 and hit delete on your keyboard.
You should have something like this:
5.) Add new raster layer.
6.) Flood fill with white and use the clear
glass Super Blade Pro preset or the clear
glass pattern.
7.) Go to Selections/Modify Contract by 20 and
hit the delete key on your keyboard.
You should have something like this:
8.) Add new raster layer and flood fill with
gold or white and use the same gold Super
Blade Pro preset.
9.) Go to Selection/Modify Contract by 5 or 10
and hit the delete key on your keyboard.
You should have something like this:

Adding The Center To The Glass Insert

10.) Add a new raster layer and using the Shapes
tool set at:
Shape = Ellipse
Antialias box IS checked
Line Width = 1
Line Style = Deflault Straight line
Make the foreground color nil circle with line
through it and White the background color and
Draw an Oval in the center of your design by
holding down the right mouse key and center
your curser at 200 x 400 make sure it doesn't
go over the gold edges and select it with the
magic wand and flood fill with gold or use the
Super Blade Pro preset.
11.) Go to Selections/Modify/Contract by 5 or 10
and hit the delete key on the keyboard.
You should have something like this:
12.) Add a new raster layer and flood fill with white.
13.) Go to Selections/Modify Contract by 20 and
hit the delete key on the keyboard and go to
Selections/Invert and Selections/Float flood
fill with the clear glass pattern or use the
clear glass Super Blad Pro preset.
You should have something like this:
14.) Add a new raster layer and flood fill with
the gold pattern or white and use the same
gold preset go to Selections/Modify Contract
by 5 or 10 and hit the delete key on your keyboard.
You should have something like this:
15.) Add a new raster layer and flood fill
with the frosted glass pattern.
You should have something like this:
16.) Add a new raster layer and go to Selections/
Load from disk cameo-ec.sel.
17.) And paste the cameo into the selection.
18.) You may change the color by using Effects/
Plug-in Filters/Harry's Filters/
Color/Add Color set at:
Red = 235
Green = 227
Blue = 175
Blend = 97
Brightness = 124
This is just an example you can set it
to what ever you want. Deselect.
You should have something like this:
19.) Go to Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel
set at:
Preset Name = soft flat edge
Bevel Shape = Flat
Width = 2
Smoothness = 0
Depth = 4
Ambience = -30
Shininess = 0
Color = White
Angle = 315
Intensity = 50
Elevation = 60
Deselect.
20.) Add a Drop Shadow set at:
Vert. = 1
Horiz. = 1
Opacity = 100
Blur = 1.2
Color = Black
then Merge all /Visible and save as a tube
or add a background color or pattern and save.
You should have something like this:
Note: All preview images are made with
Super Blade Pro presets and the frosted
background pattern.
Note: If you don't feel up to it or just
don't think you can make this tutorial with
only the one selection you can make the next
one with all selections but it doesn't have
the cameo in the center it has a design center
instead.
