Making A Basket Weave Background For Your Web Pages Or Stationery In PSP

This tutorial was created in PSP version 7.02

You may download the latest version of PSP for this tutorial
get a free trial to play with for 30 days
download it here.

You will also need the Plug-in Filter Texturizer for this tutorial download the zip file here.

And you will also need the Plug-in Filter Simple go get it here:

NOTE: Filters use a format originally designed
for Adobe Photoshop, PSP can read this format,
but it needs an additional file called msvcrt10.dll
to be placed in the Windows/System folder.
If you don't have it you can get it here

Disclaimer: This is my own idea any similarity to
any other Tutorial is purely coincidental.

You may be able to adapt this tutorial for
other PSP versions also.

Basket Weave Background

________________________________________________________________________

1.) Open new image transparent 16 mil. colors 100 x 100.

2.) Flood fill with a color.

3.) Apply Plug-in Filters/Texture/Texturizer/Canvas Set at:
Texture = Canvas
Scaling = 100
Relief = 4
Light Direction = Top
Invert box NOT checked.

You now should have something like this.

4.) Go to Effects/Plug-in Fiters/Simple/Diamonds.

You now should have something like this.

5.) Go to Effects/Plug-in Fiters/Simple/Quick Tile.

You now should have something like this.

6.) Go to Effects/Blur/Motion Blur Set at:
Angle= 135
Strength = 40

You now should have something like this.

7.) Repeat 5.

8.) Go to Effects/Texture Effects/Weave Set at:
Gap size = 5
Width = 10
Weave Color = Black
Gap Color = Black
Fill gaps box IS checked.

9.) Using the selection tool set at rectangle select
the area that looks like it will tile without lines, etc.
check by opening a transparent image about 400 x 400
and select your background use the flood fill tool
and fill it with your background, crop it till it looks
even all the way around.

10.) Merge/Merge All flatten and save as... name it.

This should be something like what you end up with.
